WDYT
SMS opt-in (Call to Action)
Public description of how end users consent to WDYT application text messages. Reviewers: the live form is at https://askwdyt.com/settings after email sign-in; the UI below matches that Settings screen.
Who we are
WDYT (“What do you think?”) is a consumer web application operated at askwdyt.com. Registered account holders use WDYT to post structured product and purchase advice requests (asks/polls) to contacts they connect on the platform. The WDYT application sends automated SMS notifications to users who opt in — these are application-to-person service messages, not personal peer-to-peer texts between individuals’ phone numbers.
Opt-in workflow
- End user creates or signs into a WDYT account with email OTP at https://askwdyt.com/login.
- User opens Settings at https://askwdyt.com/settings.
- Under Text messages, user enters their mobile number.
- User voluntarily checks the consent box (unchecked by default — not pre-selected, not required to use the app).
- User taps Save text settings. Only then does the WDYT application send SMS to that number.
Consent is never forced: the product works with email alone. SMS is optional. Users can uncheck the box and save, or reply STOP, to opt out.
