WDYT (“What do you think?”) is a consumer web application at askwdyt.com that helps registered users collect product and purchase advice from contacts they connect on the platform. This policy explains how we handle account and SMS information.

Information we collect

Email address for sign-in; display name and handle; optional mobile number if you opt in to SMS; poll questions, options, votes, and notes you submit; basic technical logs needed to run the service.

SMS / mobile numbers

If you opt in to text messages in Settings (https://askwdyt.com/settings) — by entering your number and checking an unchecked-by-default consent box — we store your mobile number to send ask notifications and receive your replies. How consent works is described publicly at https://askwdyt.com/sms-consent. We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers with third parties or affiliates for their marketing. Message frequency varies based on how often connected contacts on your account post asks (typically a few messages per week for active users). Message and data rates may apply. How we use data

To authenticate you, show asks and advice to contacts you’ve connected on the platform, send email/SMS notifications you opted into, and improve reliability and security of the product.
